The Museum of Raqqa, one of the most significant victims of the war in Syria, has become a symbol of the looting and destruction of cultural heritage by extremist forces.
The efforts to restore the museum carry an important message of peace: they help to overcome the traces of war and enable the local community in Raqqa to regain its historical heritage.
We cordially invite you to a scientific lecture on the importance of the Raqqa Museum, the damage suffered and the revitalization and restoration project.
Speakers:
M. Hiba Al-Basir: Project coordinator of the Samat Foundation, restorer and scientific director of the project to reopen the museum
Dr. Andrea Becker: Archaeologist and curator of the exhibition for the reopening of the museum
🗓️Wann: Friday, September 27 at 6:30 p.m.
📍Where: In the café
The lecture will be followed by a small reception to provide space for discussion and exchange.
